There is a fire in your building and colleagues are killed. Or a workplace violence incidence occurs.
How can you help comfort your employees who are traumatized, so that they can return to their work responsibilities?”

The Oregon Federal Executive Board is pleased to present our first Psychological First Aid Workshop, combining the fundamental interactive instruction of a level I class with the practical application of lessons learned in a level II session. The workshop will be held Thursday, October 27th, from 10:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.

Educational Goal
To prepare managers to assist staff in disaster situations: to review the psychosocial consequences of disasters; understand the psychological footprint of disasters; learn how to restore safety, facilitate function and empower action of employees through the use of psychological first aid, and applying “Guidelines for Employees” tool; understand anger and how to defuse it; and understand and deal with anxious staff members. Scenarios are included for instructive purposes as well as to provide topics for audience practice in small group exercises.

Who Should Attend
Federal Emergency and Safety Managers, Human Resources Professionals, Department Supervisors
